Barry Poupard

About

The bio I wrote for the back of the Finding Fairyland books:

Barry was born and raised in Michigan and has lived, gone to school, worked, and wrote there for most of his life. He has two kids, a boy and a girl, now grown and on their own. Though he has worked a variety of jobs, he spent the longest time working in a bookstore. He never considered writing books for young readers until his friend asked him to write a story about her daughters that she could read to them.

Some additional information: I do not mind if you call me “Bookman.” That’s kind of cool. I never had a nickname though back in junior high I briefly tried out “Bard”. It didn’t stick. Actually, I don’t mind if you call me anything you want — I’ve answered to my brothers’ names all my life so I’m used to it. What I really DON’T want to be called is “That Fairy Guy”!

Not even in jest.

Anything else you want to know? Ask away. I may or may not tell the truth.
